What the number actually is

RTP stands for return to player and indicates the share of all stakes a game pays back, calculated over millions of spins. The figure comes from the provider's own mathematical model, not from our test session.
Not a forecast for your evening
96 % doesn't mean you'll get back 96 kronor out of a hundred. Over a hundred spins the outcome can be zero or a thousandfold — it's volatility that governs the spread, not RTP.
The house's margin is the remainder
If RTP is 96% the house edge is 4%. That portion disappears regardless of how you play; no betting strategy changes it.

Where the figure becomes misleading
Multiple RTP versions
Many providers deliver the same game in two or three RTP settings and let the operator choose. Games with that option carry the feature tag RTP span with us.
Bonus buy changes the math
A purchased bonus game often has a different RTP than the base game. If only one figure is listed, it applies to the base game.
Jackpot shares
In games with a progressive jackpot the jackpot contribution is often included in the reported figure, even though only a few players will ever take part in the pot.
